Wheel well cover/splash guard. Go to www.realoem.com and search for the part number. I suspect it will be dealer-only (pricey), so better to find a junk yard and make an offer. Often folks are parting out wrecked e39s on ebay. Good luck.

I've always known/described that part as the wheel well "liner". They used to run about $35 at the local dealer, but they don't always have them in stock. Be sure to order the clips to secure them to the front liner based on what you're describing.

Just bought those 2 parts myself. They are cheap enough from the dealer; about $20.00 each, that it does not make sense to order them from Pelican...unless that's more convenient for you. For a year 2000 528i, they are part numbers 51-71-8-159-425 and 51-71-8-159-426. Your numbers for your later model 5 series might be different. They are called Fender liners; lower left and lower right.... Pelican does list them; about $15 each.

my 528i ate those things up a lot when I was running 18 x 8.5 up front.

mechanics always mark up parts. That is why DIY is the cheapest way to go.

Good info. I hadn't realized they would be relatively cheap from the dealer, even on special order. The PO of my car apparently had an issue once and the inside trim of one wheel must have popped off and the wheel cut a swath through it; might actually get this replaced!

I replaced all the wheel wells on my car when I accideintally managed to pull off the front bumper while backing in. Yeah. Figure that one out. Was about $50 said and done for the parts and screws

he told me in good faith that he does not mark up parts; I said to my self, they just make the labor a little more expensive. For labor charged $50, now that I am changing the tension armīs bushings I know is a very very simple job.
I learned my lesson the hard way; so I paid 150 instead of 40 had I done it myself.
