All wheel drive for the new 7?

I have read somewhere that the new 7 will be offered with all wheel drive sometime shortly after sales begin. Can anyone confirm that? If so, is it the same system seen on the 3 and 5 series cars? I would think that this large sedan with AWD and snow tires would be awesome in the winter and would make any SUV or equivalent unnecessary.

My GM told me that the new 7 Xdrive won't offer 4 wheel steering.

Personally, I love the fact that BMW doesn't offer sports suspensions on Xdrive cars.

Its the experts paying homage to rear wheel drive supremacy.
