|
Anyone have any brake shims??
Front/ Rear needed in order to get my car registered.. The inspection station I took it to for a brake/ light inspection won't pass me because I am lacking them; arguing that they are only intended to reduce noise not safety got me no where.
I am extremely furious at the moment, but if anyone has a couple pad shims they can part with I'd be extremely grateful ~ Christopher

Are you sure your car came with shims? All cars do nor have them and I can find nothing on line that says it is supposed to. My Chevy or Handa (one of the two) had them but not my 525i. Not sure what year car you have. Look up the brakes on realOEM.com http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...43&hg=34&fg=05
That pic on the first link represents a 1990 E34. The below link represents a 1994 E34 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...43&hg=34&fg=05 No shims for either.

Go to a different shop which has some familiarity with BMW so you don have to go to jail. No shims on mine either.

Paid nearly 100.00 to get it inspected already... If it doesn't pass today after I talk to him, I'll take it elsewhere and file a police report.

Neither can I, but ya just can't beat the weather... Cept right now it's ppouuuurinnggg!!!
I can't stand the UK's strict cycle laws, lol... Then again I'm old enough to have a full size engine'd bike there now (they have the power output limitations for young riders out there)

i have no idea about the engine rules here...i got here in august.i am in USAF currently serving in UK.i'll be here for 3 years then i am done with UK.
