Looking to price the car in the same league as the MB and just below the Porsche. BMW feels they have created a car more in line with those products and will be a better value for the money than the Porsche (and supposedly will out 'Ring it) b/c of standard features and fuel economy.

Do not forget they needed to move this upmarket to make way for a possible Z2.... we will see about that!
as long as there is a z2, i'm fine with a mid 40's price; if no smaller z then bleh
mid 40s for the entry model is def starting to get rather pricey, especially considering optioned out that would be the entry model near or above 50k

45 - 55 grand will be the price depending on options. I beleive this will be too pricy for most. I was just looking at a Mazda RX8 which is priced at 32. BMW is going from affordable to High Priced. I think you will see sales drop big time, and unfortunately for the new Z4 it will be too costly and sales will suffer

Boxster is $46,600 starting and Boxster S is $56,700. These are much better drivers cars IMO.

Z4's gotta be at a discount to this duo. I would expect the Z4 turbo to start at around the Boxster (base). Perhaps the Z4 3.0 NA will start at 40.

Hey; we all have to make our choices. BTW, that includes auto manufacturers, like BMW.

I think we could all be in agreement if you cited something, but frankly it seems a little low to me for a new BMW, especially a car that appears to be in some demand. I dunno, maybe I'm outta the loop.

Well, now that '09 Z4 pricing is out the need for a Z2 is really there if BMW wants to remain in the same roadster market they were in when they introduced the Z3. I hope they come through.
