03 745Li - Hit it or not?
hello fourm,
short version, 2003 745Li with 75K miles, for $15k. Long version, One of my colleague owns a 2003 745Li with about 75k miles. He is the second owner and bot it used back in early 2005. He said it's pretty much trouble free so far. He is not a car guy so he sticks to the BMW maintenance schedule for the past few years and only drives about 8k a year. I would love to do more extensive search here but I only have limited time to make the decision. So I hope fellow members here can shed some light. Any main issues? I had been driving audis from 2000-2007 so i know reguarly upkeep are not cheap but if you are lucky and got a car with few problems, then it tends to stay that way. Since his car been fairly trouble free, I assume it's more likely it will stay that way. any major service are expected between 75k to 90k? many thanks. Rich

sounds like a decent deal if it's in good shape, run the vin through a BMW dealer and get the history to see exactly what was done and when.

Sounds like a good deal if all the service history comes back okay and alot of the prior work was done already. For $15k you won't find a cheaper 745 with that mileage. Good luck in your 745 search.

Very good price. Service history and if possible, an inspection by a mechanic you trust would be a good idea.

If it has had a good amount of work done already i would be more interested if it didnt look like alto of work has been done i would pass. Good luck.

Get a service history - if shop visits are sparse, I'd jump on that deal. WRT 75/80k mile service, your DIS computer via IDrive will tell you what services are needed.

Sounds like a fair price... I agree with the service history posts as well... Also, take it to a good Independant BMW mechanic and have it checked out. Hidden gremlins could cost you a fortune later.
