2003 330ci convertible top not opening fully
Hi there! Just wondered if anyone's had the same or a similar problem to my one described below?
I have a 2003 330ci Sport convertible (electric roof) and all was working fine until I took the winter hard top off a couple of weeks ago and found that once the roof is up it won't now go down. The roof would generally make some noise when I used it in the past but now there is very little and the top only opens approx half way and then all is silent (the cover for where the roof is stowed only raises 30%). The entire operation - both the attempt at opening and the closure - takes far longer than it would have previously. If anyone has any ideas as to the nature of the problem (and I suppose the cost / time of the repair) then that would be great as BMW want to charge me for a quick look, let alone the repair itself.
