Missing "features" on my e90?

Howdy, tech question for those who know. I am the second owner of an '06 330i (manual, non-idrive, ZSP, ZPP). The car has a 7/05 build date. I have been unable to find the way to adjust settings for auto locking, DRL, pathway lighting, etc. On p. 61 of the manual I was given, the "Settings and Information" section shows the symbols for different functions operated from the BC. There are two symbols with a "key". One has the key on top of a ruler marker and one with the key and a check symbol. The latter is supposed to be the one with the submenu of the different functions I'm looking for. I cannot get the BC to show this menu. I have the symbol with the key and check but when it is displayed, I see the submenu for setting formats and units and measures (which is supposed to be for the other "key and ruler" symbol), not the one the manual shows. Does anyone know why? Could my car's early build date not have included this set of functions? Thanks for any answers.

p.s also posting on e90.post, sorry if you're reading it again

Have you run through the menu with the engine on? I have found some of the menus are not available with the engine off.

I believe early build dates did not have all the functions to be user-adjustable.

+1

OP: Your car was an early built. The features that you're looking were not available until cars born on and after Sept. 1, 05.

You can try contacting the Svc. Dept and try getting a software update, but they might charge you and I'm not sure if it'll even work then.

Thanks guys, OP here. I might look to see about the availability of a software update if I have to go to a dealer or independent that can do it the next time I need to have something fixed. The car is running great with no issues other than these missing features, so I'm going to leave well enough alone. I can live without the DRL's, etc. I suppose this is another BMW oddity I'll have to get used to. Are there other differences in pre-9/05 build 330's compared to the later build dates? Thanks again.

My 330i was one of the first to come to the US, a 3/05 build. I do not have those functions earlier. I have had S/W updates, but never got that functionality. If you learn otherwise, please post.

No big deal to me, I'd rather drive than fuss with settings. The one think I'd really like to be able to change is the autolocking.

I have an 8/05 build without those features as well, so let me know what you find out.
