convertible hood compartment wont open help.
Hi, Had a situation today where i fitted a new seal for my 1996 320i manual convertible roof compartment. All fitted well closed the compartment but when I went to open it something seemed to snap now the lever which opens the compartment is ineffective and the roof compartment wont open. Is there another way to open this if so how do I do it? Cant see any other way to open it. Its full of water at the moment because of the broken seal I replaced so am desperate to fix this.

The user MrsT just had the same problem and her emergency release strap didn't work either. She said she got it sorted but didn't explain how - you might want to PM her and ask.
