I have a 650i... but my rear reflector doesn't look like that...(I think) I'll check tomorrow.

THe rear reflector may have changed in a later year than yours (unless you have a 2008... then I'm just dumbfounded).

When I owned my 645, which I bought CPO, I recall my salesman explaining the difference in horse-power between it and the 650 at 15 more for the 650.

Yes this is the only way from the outside to tell a 645 from a 650 pre-facelift apart. The 645 tips are straight out and the 650i the tips are slanted with the body.

And I just notice that my 650i (which I purchased brand new from the dealer in 07, so I doubt that the dealer switched it) have the amber front side reflector. So really, I can't tell the different between 645 and 650 and could not care less actually..

You have a 650i. 06 and 07 are 650i pre facelift. They look exactly the same as a 645ci from the outside except the exhaust tips are slightly different. Obviously there are some interior changes (push button start, black vs old grey accent, etc) and the engine increase from 4.4l to 4.8l with the extra power.

The 08+ lci 650i is very easy to spot with new sport wheels, headlights, turn singnals front/rear, rear reflectors, front amber reflector on the fender edge, updated front bumper, rear trunk brake light added on the coupes.

Ohh... that's an interesting fact to know. Thanks. I do have the start/stop button on mine.

What do you guys think when a buyer buys a used 645 that the previous owner put on a 650 badge but the current owner has no clue what the badges mean?

I know before I researched BMW's I knew nothing about the badges.. I just knew there was a 3 series, 5 series, 6 series and 7 series.

I was like that too before I got my 6er; I had no clue what the difference was, to be honest.
