The new 7 looks nicer in person and actually looks more sporty and less bulky from front and side profile then my E65 7er. However, I think the rear of the E65 was much better looking. Also with regards to the 19" rims on the new 7er. I think BMW went back wards as the 19" rims on E65 7er were much better looking then the ones on the F01 7er.

I'm not sure if this makes a difference, but the 19" sport wheels are forged vs cast. This may affect what BMW can do to make them look better. Cast you just pour the metal into a mould. With forging, you have to be able to hammer the metal. Performance wise, forged wheels are lighter.

I believe forged wheels come in all type of styles. Most 20 or 22" forged wheels actually have designs that are as good if not better looking then the cast. My 22" inch wheels were 3 piece custom forged.
