The wiper on my '01 BMW 530i won't work. I believe that the wiper relay is bad. Where is the wiper relay that I'm gonna replace? Thanks for helping!

In my M5 it´s under the passenger side pollen filter where the
ECU is - maybe it´s similar in the 530.

You need to be systematic:

- Wiper Stalk (at steering column)
- Relay (you already looked at it).
- Fuse
- Motor (you already checked it) ---> Hook it to the connector but not to the linkage: does it work, if it does then the problem is in the linkage.
- Wiper Linkages: did you check to linkages for any seized linkage or corrosion?

Check into your relay.

I just got done removing my relay and turns out that one of the contacts had burned enough to prevent the contacts to read closed (by a DMM). A quick cleaning with emory cloth/sandpaper, reinstallation:

- everything works, including the rain sensor which had not been working for a while

Hello Guys, I am new to this forum. I am also having a issue with my Wiper Sensor.

Here is a quick run down. I have a 02 BMW x5 4.4. It has been great since i bought it in 06. This past month it broke down on me and i found out trans went bad somehow. Anyways after i fixed the trans and had it completely rebuild everything is working fine except a few things. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

The wipers works if i manually put stick down and in fast mode but when I put it 1 click up where the sensor is supposed to work it goes once and thats it never goes again even if my sensativity is all the way up. Any Ideas??

My car used to lock automatically when I put car in drive and now it doesnt anymore. Any Ideas??

I am not a big car guru so im farely new to fixing things myself but after paying close to 3000 to rebuild entire transmission I dont want to waste anymore money at dealer.

Thanks for any help you can give me
