Sunroof not closing

Hi folks.

Just noticed that once in a while, my sunroof doesn't want to close. It gets to about the halfway point and then opens all the way again. Sometimes, I have to push on it while it's closing to help it a little.

Is there a way to fix this? I tried adding some grease to the rails, but I don't think that has really helped much.

Sounds to me like it's hanging up on something and operating like someone's head is in the way. Is the sunshield operating OK? Is anything in it's path? That's where I'd start... see if anything is causing it to bind up.

Open the door, stand on the door jam and look down at the rails. From this point, clean them up real good and then slap some good lubricant all over them ( make sure to be thorough ).

The sunroof thinks your arm is out of the sunroof and that's why it's doing that.

My 1999 did it the first few months i had it and I started doing what I just described every spring. Not a problem for the remaining 3 years I had it.

In the meantime, just hold the button down, it'll close.
