|
Lease set to expire in 60 days what to do?
I have an '07 530XI that is coming to the end of its lease in 60 days. I only have approximately 18000 miles on it & its spotless. The contracted residual amt is 37400. I would like to keep it if I could get a fair price & financing for it. Anyone tell me what I should expect to pay for it? (I'm assuming that i can still negotiate the residual). Also, what type of financing is available for it? Is it worth it to pay the $2500 to have it CPO? Or would I just be better off getting another lease?
Any help would be appreciated.

Better off getting a new lease - the 535xi is a major improvement.

I'd prefer to keep the car, since I haven't really broken it in. Anyone give me a heads up on what type of financing terms are out there & how much off the residual I might expect to pay?

The cruel irony of situations like this is that your car is actually worth more with the low miles that it would have been had you used them up, which in turn makes it less likely that you will get a below residual deal on it. With a stronger used car market, the new turn-in negotiation rules and your low miles I wouldn't take it for granted that the dealer will give you a buyout price that is significantly below your residual. Do some searching, the rules on buyouts have changes recently and there have been a ton of discussions in the last couple of months that will be instructive and useful for you.

if some one wants to extend on monthly basis do you contact bmw financial or local dealership?
