radio reception

I have a 20o6 X5 that since purchasing new has always had poor radio reception -both AM and FM. I live between 45 and 55 miles from major population centers with approximately 15 to 20 AM and same number of FM stations-- all have strong or very strong signals.

I can only pick up about 4 of the FM stations and none of the AM stations. My dealer repeatedly tells me that this is typical of a BMW. My wife's SAAB regularly receives at least 80% of these stations.

Any one else with similar problem?
