IPOD Interface adapter for 06 x5

Please excuse me if this has been discussed previously. I would like to get the IPOD interface adapter for my 06 x5 but would like to hear any pros and cons. I currently have the single cd player in my x5. I understand the dealer will charge approximately 2 hours of labor to install. Are there any alternatives to this? I appreciate any and all feedback to this venture. Does anyone know if the adapter is discounted if you are a member of the BMW CCA? Thanks a million.

Hi Soleglor. I take it "windy city" is PE? I recently installed a DENSION after market IPod kit in my Z4. Price R 1'750.00 complete. This even charges the IPod while plugged in. I have a 2006 X5 as well - with a flippin tape player radio nogal. I am going to install a DENSION in the X5 as well. If you want more info, contact me on +27 82 821 5985.
