'88 528E check light flashing coolant

I have a 1988 528E that has a flashing check light and the coolant
light indicator on. It's not leaking any coolant. Any ideas?

It means that the coolant level in the expansion has gone low...or what happens in all of these cars eventually, that you need to replace the level switch. It's like $15 new.

What does it mean by "coolant level in the expansion has gone low". How do you fix that?

You add coolant to the expansion tank. That is all. So you open the hood and then you open the expansion tank and add coolant. If it is full then you buy either a new one from the dealer or you can buy one from me for 10 shipped.

How silly of me! The "expansion" refers to that overflow tank where you add coolant to. The term confuses me.

Sup man! check the level switch, sometimes it gets stuck even after adding coolant/water.
