Tip of the Dip Stick

i was checking my oil and as i wiped down the dip stick at the end where the plastic tip is i noticed that with just alittle force that the tip would spin alittle on the shaft of the dip stick, being that im anal, all i could imagine was the peice of plastic falling into my crank case so i ordered a new stick ($8.00) for peice of mind. im not sure how that peice is held to the stick but i cant imagine it should be able to rotate on the shaft at all

I thought that they were molded on and mine doesn't rotate. I would have done the same thing.
