Question Super eta???

I hear you can install the head from a 528i and make the the 528e a super eta??? Any truth to this? and if so what head is compatible with my 7/83 528e? Thanks in advance

Mein Auto: e28 525e (eta)
You can swap head from M20 engines 2.3 or 2.5 litre (so that's e30 shape 323i or 325i, 523i or 525i). It's quite involved tho, you need to change the ECU & associated wiring, you also need to get the head complete with everything (both manifolds, air management & injectors etc). Check out wikipedia, can't remember where exactly but seem to remember it was somewhere around "BMW eta" or something like that. But in the end you end up with a higher performance 2.7litre engine, but bigger fuel bills. Also, don't forget, the eta concept was for an under-stressed engine, & it may be benificial to improve oil flow to the cam-shaft/top end, especially on the older engines (I believe hollow bolts can achieve this, but you'd have to check).
