Got My new Vert-Need help
Hi all,
This site has been wonderful. I just picked up my new(old)vert yesterday. Drove it home from LI, to westchester county ny yesterday in the pouring rain! No leaking in the vert top thank god. I noticed a problem, and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. When I am driving at a good speed like 60-68, the car handles fine, but if I hit the brakes( for example going fast, and then getting off an exit), the car vibrates something awful. It sounds like a machine gun, and the steering wheel vibrates terrible. Is it a wheel alignment problem, or tire problem etc, or something worse. Anyone have any idea? thanks |

you probably have some warped rotors on your hands

+1 take off your front wheels and see if the rotors are grooved and worn. New rotors + pads can be had a NAPA for relatively cheap.

+ another 1 on rotors. if you go with aftermarket pads, you haved to get aftermaket rotors, or else there is a major wear issue.

so do you think I should get oem parts, or will aftermarket parts be o.k.? I know you said that if I go with aftermarket to get the pads and rotors at the same place, but would oem be the best? If so, where can I get them, and are they significantly more expensive? thanks

thanks- I would get the front rotors and pads right? The back breaks wouldn't need to be redone unless they are worn right? thanks
