E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

wth?

so my fan clutch, when the car is cold, it spins pretty tightly (not even a quarter of a spin). i heard that it shouldnt stop easily if you take somethin like a magazine and put it to the fan and it stops. when i turn the car on and pop the hood, i hear a frictiony rub from the fan clutch area. is there any other test i could try to make sure that the clutch is bad or is that pretty much it. the belts are a few months old so im pretty sure the belt isnt slipping.

The E30 is what all actual driving enthusiasts are after. It's an unpretentious machine, quietly capable of spectacular feats of handling. It's light, simple design is rugged enough to run against $400k rally cars, but on the street it' communicative chassis delights even the most disinterested driver. It really is one of the world's ultimate driving machines
