I went 3 weeks without driving my car due to surgery. I started it up a few days ago and i thought the engine was going to fall on the floor because it was rough. The car was actually rocking from side to side. After a minute or so, it was better. I'm on the east cost (MA) and the temperature has begun to drop daily. I say let it run for a few minutes and it should be fine. Mine had no noises or anything. It just had a violent shake going on. It was doing the Harlem shake or something.

Mine was doing the same thing. I found out that it was an intake leak, more specifically the PCV plate on the back of the manifold. The way to check for this is to pull the dipstick while the engine is running and listen for a sucking sound.

will do. even running slightly rough, like when my spark plugs were bad, the car still ran rather well. i cant imagine people letting their 4.4s go to hell though.
