POS. My wife's Ford Expedition is a better SUV than this thing. Her back up camera? Crystal clear at night. My back up camera? Can't see a thing. Her bluetooth? Even plays music. My bluetooth? Can't store two people with the same phone number. The X5 rattles like mad.

Wonder why I am posting this? To warn people on the fence about getting one of these pieces of junk. For those of you looking to buy an X5, save your money (or better yet, send me a message. I'll give you mine cheap). I can't believe how bad these things really are. I should have spent 40k less and bought another Ford. Poor BMW, can't get anything right.

markox5,

I partially agree with u in the following: my driver drives my 5 series BMW sedan bought brand new in 2006, by today he was at service 10 times changing different parts, 2 rimes radiator.

I drive Lexus LX 470 bought new in 2003, I had no problems by today and did nothing except changing oil and its filter. Greatest quality.

But when I drove this year for 2 weeks BMW X 5 3.0 d rented in Germany I found very big difference between Lexus and BMW in dynamics, u'd not decrease the speed on turns, it is greatly obeys a driver and the wheel. This is the plus of BMW- pleasant driving.

To be fair the domestic built utes are trucks, not sport activity vehicles. They do a lot right, but give up driving dynamics to the BMW/MB/Audi big utes (oops, I mean SAVs). Ford and GM have been making great strides toward quality (look where Buick of all things is on the quality surveys!) and it shows. Chrysler not so much. Still and all if you can afford the gas money and enjoy comfort and want to carry a lot, the big domestic utes are really hard to beat. I had a Tahoe for 150K trouble free miles before I got my X3 when gas was heading toward $5.00 a gallon. Frankly I wish I still had it. I'll bet you get better mileage with the Ford than you do with the 4.8 too.

Oh ferchrissakes. Your biggest issues with your BMW are the backup camera, and the Bluetooth?????

You, sir, belong in a Toyota. Trade in that BMW so it winds up with someone who can appreciate what it was really built for.

No rattles at all in our 2008. I suspect what you are hearing is a screw loose - and it ain't in the car!

Oh my, you should trade it on a Ford or Toyota. Life is too short to be so upset. I have a 2008 X5 4.8i with 25,000 miles. No problems or rattles, runs very well. I had a 1999 Lexus with 160,000 miles on it. Great vehicle , but to big and boring. Also got rid of my 2004 SC430. Nice car, but boring. PLan on replacing it with a Porsche.

How much are you asking for the 2009 X5, 4.8i or 3.0?

My wife is on her 3rd X5. She loves them--handles like a sports car, power enough to pull her two horses. She puts about 20K miles a year, and will never drive anything else (or so she says).

I suggest you sell your wife's POS and get her something you will be happy with.
