Buying an e38. 728 or 730d?

Buying a daily city ride. e38 99-01' 728 or 730d.

I had a 2.8 i6 on e39, and it did 16 mpg, and i don't want to go 13 mpg with 740. (low quality petrol we have)

What do you think of 730d ?

p.s. i drive 100-200km a day

if i had to say, i'd go for the diesel. especially if the local fuel staitions dont carry top quality fuel like you say. diesel will be the winner when it comes to fueling costs. much better fuel mileage. diesel hasnt been very popular in the US in cars, but if you notice in europe its much more popular due to its ability to give higher mileage.
