Newbie

Just dropping by to say hello. Just picked up my 2008 X3 last week. Still trying to learn German engineering but it is getting better. Still trying to get my phonebook loaded. Got the phone paired but no phonebook. Looking forward to learning more about my vehicle on this forum. Thanks, Dave

The X3 is a great vehicle!

What sort of phone are you trying to pair? One of the BMW "approved" phones or something else? I have had great success with Samsung and Nokia, in addition to Apple iphone.

My phone is a Palm Treo 750. Not on the "approved" list but a pretty new and sophisticated phone. I take all suggestions on how to download phonebook. It will say "downloading phonebook" but it doesnt do anything. Thanks for any help.

I had a Palm Treo 700 that worked most of the time, but was very temperamental. The Treo is not an approved phone and I could not get the phonebook to download. The phone could receive calls and male them, but sometimes it would not hang up or connect.

Your best bet is to save a couple frequent numbers to the voice commend.

My only other suggestion is some phones need the numbers stored in certain areas (memory card or on phone itself). My Nokia needs numbers on the phone instead of the memory card. Also, beware special characters on names/numbers.

Numbers with 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx can't be loaded by my phone. Skip the 1- and it could help.

My Samsung requires them to be in phone memory.
