Can somebody HELP? Is it posible to run the existing x3 deck that plays mp3's and be able to install an 10 inch sub and JBL amp? I'm having trouble finding an answer to this without replacing the existing deck.

You guys know me too well already.![]() Yup there are plenty of products that will do exactly what you are looking to do. And imo a 10" sub in a closed box firing toward the tailgate is sonically the best sounding in our vehicle. A closed box will give a nice clean kick of the bass drum and not that horrible whump whump whump you hear from kids cars (that is created by a ported box). I use Crutchfield as a link because they are good at breaking things down nicely (not because they are always the cheapest or best--however their CS is really good). http://www.crutchfield.com/p_236REQ5...Q5.html?tp=428 Can't claim credit for this recommendation as I use the Alpine version, but from what I can see it seems to be the simplest to use. The alpine takes some patience and an Alpine H/U. This works off factory H/U. There are two versions of this unit: $130 $180 I linked the more advanced.

Hey Evlenger, any experience with the J & L Audio cleansweep? I just pulled that from my Saab and will be installing along with 4 channel Alpine amp, Rockford Fosgate mono amp for single J&L 10" in a box? Didn't mean to hi-jack the thread, you seem to be th expert here, thanks.

Looks pretty much straight forward on the JL cleansweep.
I take it you will need to know the speaker inputs, or outputs from the H/U, where to mount the bugger ?

I found a vacant compartment next to the battery for the cleansweep, amps will be mounted on the drivers side wall in that same general area. Now to find a spot for my satellite radio.....

get a soundgate locx. its a line output converter what it does is it uses a speaker level signnal by tapping into the speaker wires and changes it into a low level signal and gives you rcas no speaker will be sacrificed

Lot of Space
Here is what I am talking about as far as mounting additional equipment.
If you look very close you can see that I have circled the areas for removing the bolts for the panel (very carefully remove).
