After putting on the bike rack, what will happen about the sensor?

I'm planning to install a tow hitch and put on a bike rack. Just wondering what will happend about the rear sensor? Will it always detect the rack and keep beeping?

Yep, huge pain. Every time you put in reverse you will get constant "tone" from the sensor thinking you are about to back into something. Someone made up something at some point that plugs into the hitch electrical connection that mimicks a trailer being towed. The car is smart enough to know if there is a trailer hooked up, but not a bike rack.

With the hitch, you should have gotten the electrical plug. Can't you just plug that in?

Plug it into what? Even if it's a dummy plug, there won't be any resistance for the module to read.

I don't know about the resistance....Just wondering if you plugged it in, if the iDrive would "know" that it was hooked up.
