Central locking system not opening the rear door lock

I have 2001 BMW X5, when i try to unlock the car by pressing the unlock key, all the doors unlock except the driver side back door, i will have to open it from inside only. The knobs pop up for all the doors except the driver side back door. Can anyone help me identify the issue to fix it?.

I have the exact same problem. Hoping a new lock mechanism is the fix, but haven't installed it yet.

gosh, my '01 too, but is the passenger-side rear door which doesn't unlock
locking seems fine.

We had the same probelm with our 2001 X5. We had to have a new door lock installed. BTW Be careful not to use the "unlock it from the inside" trick too many times. Eventually that trick fails and leaves you unable to open the door
