remember that quattro video?

Well it was being discussed over on quattroworld in the allroad forum I used to frequent. Those guys know more about quattro than seems humanly possible and all the generations and versions it has taken thru the years. Well they feel it is definitely possible for the quattro equipped car to get hung up that way based on the torsen diff which does not lock up and will get fooled when both wheels (front 2 or rear2) spin at the same speed. I have included a technical description which describes it well especially that last paragraph. If the driver had touched the brakes litely the front wheels would have engaged. This is something X-drive does automatically apparently. Here is the link

I looked at the video again. Noticed that the 5 series bimmer has its brake lights on right until the moment the rear wheels start to move. While the Audi doesnt. This suggests that they helped the 5series by braking and gassing simultaneously to help lock up the front and rear wheels -- while the audi got fooled. That or they disabled the abs on the audi because as a late model A8 it definitely had EDL (electronic diff lock) which is supposed to lockup the spinning wheels so the power goes to the wheels with traction.

OK I`m done now
