No, you'll just have to live with the warning lamp.

The only way to remove the sensor is to buy Tire Pressure Sensors for the snow wheels and have them installed by a tire mechanic

PSA if you have not figured it out yet, there is no sensor "in the tire". The alarm is derivative of the brake sensor that will sense when a tire is low by the speed of its rotation.

You are correct for for pre lci models. I forget the cutoff year when they switched from indirect to direct TPMS.
The op had an 08 and I know for a fact that year does indeed have a direct TPMS system mounted inside the rim via the valve stem. So only solution in that case...ignore warning or have sensors mounted. Last edited by x3brian; 03-08-2013 at 02:23 PM. |

C'mon you guys... "ONLY" solution... really... It's a stupid sensor that transmit something over radio frequencies. It really just depends how far down the rabbit hole you want to go. If you take the blue pill, then yea, the ONLY solution is to have the TPMS installed. If you're willing to actually take the red pill, here's a simulator: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=327609
