The F10 ain't bad looking, but I do think if it came after the e39 it would have seemed like a better evolution vs the e39 -> e60 which with a pretty big departure design wise. I'm probably in the minority here, but if I'm gonna spend on a car I want something that looks different and drives well. If I wanted conservative I'd be driving a MB or Lexus. |

The more I see it the more I like it. I can't wait and I mean I CAN'T WAIT, till the M5 is released. Drool....

I keep getting back online to take another look at pics, and have to remind myself to breath... Just stunning, it has accelerated itself to the top of my wishlist for a luxury sport sedan.

I love it. To me it looks smaller than the current 5, much like a more muscular 3. My 535xi wagon comes off lease in a year. From what I'm hearing the wagon may not be offered in the US at all, and almost certainly not by the time I will need to return my current car. I seriously doubt BMW will offer a buyout price that will make economic sense, so I suspect I'll be driving a new 535xi sedan by late 2010.

Question about the exhaust pipes.
The pics I've seen show the exhaust dual left side (same as current) and dual left/right. Can I assume the 550i will be the only model w/dual left/right?

I would expect that the 535i and 550i will have dual left/right. The pics so far are debadged but since they would have been taken in Europe, its probably diesel models we are looking at, which will likely have dual left side pipes like a 528i.

FYI the 360° Visualiser is also up and running on the Deutschland site. One can pick and choose exterior and interiour colours, and wheels.

I'm in an '09 GTI hot hatch for now (also owned many VW's and this is a fun little "transition" vehicle). ![]() However, I have to agree about the hood line where it ends in the front (above the Roundel). The line is just too obvious (almost looks like hood paint protection film was applied but with a much more noticable line). I can't help but feel that previous hoods like on the E39 and E60 look more fluid. I hope they change that but won't hold my breath. Not a deal breaker, but I think it kind of messes up a nice design a little bit. |

it's very nice. i never did warm up to the e60 (inside or out) and preferred to hang on to my e39. guess i'll be driving this pig for another 2-3 years until i can afford to step up to a used 2011 (2nd model year) 535 or 550. i suppose there are worse things in life...

This is generally my thought, too. That said, when I'm ready for a new sedan, I strongly suspect that the F10 will be at the top of my list despite its more-conservative styling than my E60's.
