I've never seen them on ebay that cheap, I was looking for them when I was making my double cup holders for mine and the wife's 6's and the cheapest I could find was around $80-$100 each.

Here is a dumb one...when I got the car home (didn't have the manual in the car, got it later) I couldn't figure out how to turn the car off. I found out:

1. Comfort access start is a quick tap on the Start button.
2. Tried to shut the car off the same way, brief touch of Start/Stop button, car shuts off but stupid stereo still runs - car is in RADIO MODE
3. Forum board was kind enough to instruct me that you press and HOLD that button to completely shut everything down. Also found out that second tap of button turns it off.

You're correct - I asked in another thread, and someone commented about it being above the mirror. that prompted me to look in the manual, which said above the mirror.


BUT then today I noticed in the Table of Contents (page 15 in the manual) there's a note saying "Convertible: microphone on the steering column"), so you, my friend, are 100% CORRECT!

I found out that I'm sad when my wife takes my car out and I have to drive her Expedition.

I realized how thrilled I was with the manual and that my wife can't drive it

Also, with voice dial, you can say the entire number in one go. No, "and next?"

And, lane departure warning system is kinda cool...

Well I got curious today, there is a medical bag in the ski bag area and I took the cup holder out of the glove box and put it in the rear compartment area.

by the way where do you exactly store the cup holder? I'm confused which rear storage area you're all referring to...

The back part of the armrest flips up and the cup holder goes in at a little bit of an angle

That I prefer the 6 with less performance than the M...

I probably should've been clear; I'm speaking of the e46 M3. I haven't driven the M6 enough to give an opinion.

But, the answer is that I'm getting old. I prefer the austere luxury of the 6, the standout styling, the automatic, the electronics (even the quirkiness), the ride doesn't beat you up (the e46 M3 rides like a buckboard).

When we bought the M3 for my wife, my idea was to have her transition to the 6 so I could tear around in the M. That hasn't happened.

It's also the second cup holder for the passenger when the main one is out. The valet lock out is in that compartment as well.

I have to smile at this. I just made the mistake of taking my car to the gym to keep the battery charged and of course it started to snow a bit. I live on a very high mountain so the road was somewhat slippery by the time I came home and although everyone else flew by me my car barely made the hill. I am sure that the snow tires would make a difference but I only had one other car this bad.....my bmw 7 series....great car but a 1/4 of inch of snow and that car was history.

To the guy who passed me with his BMW 5 series all wheel......I still will take my six!

Okay, this is lame. Was just driving and my daughter was in the back. The car got hot in the sun, she wanted the air conditioning on high, so I put the temp all the way down, but the fan wasn't strong. I try to turn it up, and she says "just turn the auto knob." I didn't know you could adjust the fan level manually with the knob--when I looked closer, I noticed a little fan symbol on the left and a big fan symbol on the right. Duuuh...
