DIY : Gauge cluster LED mod
I did the mod on my zx-6r but I would assume it is the same on any bike with an LED backlit gauge.
Im not responsible for anything you break do at your own risk Step 1 : remove windscreen ![]() ![]() Step 2 : Remove plastics to get to mirror bolts ![]() ![]() Step 3 : Remove Mirrors ![]() Step 4: Remove bolts holding in the gauge and mirror bracket ![]() Step 5: Unplug gauge cluster ( seen in pic above as well) Step 6: unscrew gauge cluster from bracket ( self explanitory) Step 7: Gauge is now free [IMG]http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h178/jdactl/IMG_1580.jpg() ![]() Step 9 : call in your boy to solder for you  ![]() Step 10: remove all the LEDs and replace with the color of your choice note: to find the right size for your bike you would either need to look on some forums or open the gauge cluster up yourself and find out ... The larger white squares are the LED's ![]() Test the gauge before reassembling the entire bike and then follow the same instructions reversed to assemble the bike Enjoy your new gauges !
