Around the block, no exhaust

Was working on the car today and had the exhaust off the car. I had the idea of starting it up at that point, what a sound!!! Decided to go for a drive, kept it under 50kph and under 2300rpm and **** it was scary, had it out there for about 2min but took her home with all the attention it was getting . Keep in mind this is the 2litre M50 engine. The noise was unbelievable!

Just thought I would share that experience with you guys and if any one else would like to share fond or fun memories with there pride and joy that would be a cool thread.

I approach her a little in awe; marvelling at the craftsmanship. I open her door and the lights streams from the heavens with the angelic choir paying tribute. I sit reverently in her. She starts, purring like a dream. Sheer bliss occurs. The key is turned to the off position. I climb out, like falling upwards from a well. I die a little inside walking away from her.

Sounds verry nice! Only 2300 rpm? Ive taken it up to about 5k and that sounds amazing. The engine ROARS....

haha i get the same feeling when i go to work and leave her in the under car park, but makes my evening when i come back down the stairs that night and see her again.

Yes only 2300, the attention i was getting was a little worrying so I just took it easy and kept it in a high gear, but dabbing the throttle every now and then. coming out of the drive way, the man cutting his grass next door got startled lol.

5k, now that would be loud!

Ha, it sounds awesome like that man. I drove for several miles like that once.. Everyone was staring. Also some kids in a Celica dropped dead in their tracks, and I heard the one yell, "Holy S listen to his car!"

I need to take my exhaust off again sometime...

me too Oh and put on the 3.91 diff . 3.91 + no muffler + 5-speed = everyone drooling...

I had to drive my M3 from home to my job without exhaust on it once (I worked at the dealer and my new Borla catback was there, so I wasn't to put my stock exhaust back on just to drive a half hour)
It was re-goddamn-diculous. My commute included about ten minutes on the freeway.

I did that and I was like I need to have that 24/7
So i went bought some piping and made some bends, a connection and tips and I run cat-back straight pipes. I love it.

It's not the best sound clip but I made it not too long ago. I need better mic and recording set-up

Ill have to do it when I have a long weekend because ive been wanting to for a long while . And you didnt check the e36 pix thread? A friend made some weird designs on em. And she's doing my spare trunk for shiggles sometime this week.

No, I only heck that occasionally, it's at the top of the page and I don't see it often.

What kind of design?

I doubt you checked it either





I had to touch it up and clear coat afterwards.
