E63 / E64 6 Series (2003 - 2013)
The E63/E64 BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

On my trip from North carolina back to WI with my 2000 M5, going an average of 75mph, I got 24.8 mpg with the 400bhp V8
Gotta love the BMW V8 engines!

I get usually about 18-20 around town, and 22-24 highway. And I love to hear the motor, a lot. I am the guy that burns up rears every 10k miles, so it isn't that I baby the car either. I have managed as low as 14-16, but that is in sport mode. I hardly ever use it though. Anyway... I am impressed some of you all are able to get as poor milage as you are. That is impressive.

there is some difference between the 645 engine vs 650i so that may account for some difference... but I agree it's not as bad as others...

considering how much torque this car has... I was prepared for worse..

16.9 mpg here in my usual work loop, partial highway, partial city. 2008 650i.

HOWEVER... two road trip vacations averaged 26.4 and 26.6 mpg each, from Seattle to San Francisco. The last one (26.6 mpg) was with an average speed of 79.3 mph! That includes some steep mountain segments. Pretty amazing.

My wife's 325i gets 18-19 city, and 31-32 hwy.
