Center armrest storage flip up cradle
Has anyone had any experience with REMOVING the flip up phone cradle which robs useable space?
I hope the good interior engineers at BMW can redesign the various center storage compartments in future 7 series models -- There should be way more useable storage in these compartments, given the width of the 7er |

It is not to be removed.

The flip up phone cradle has a wiring harness connected to it which makes it removing it more difficult. Even if you could unhook the cradle, open it up and disconnect the wiring harness, where would you stow the wiring harness? The hole back there is not big enough to put the wiring harness in there.
I recommend you just leave it alone and hopefully the next 7er will have as big storage as the E65/66. Remember the E39 didn't have much center console storage either untill the E65/66 came along? btw, there's a storage compartment beneath the headlight switch. Big enough to store sun glasses, coins, and other items.
