'84 633csi; WHERE IS THE FUEL FILTER LOCATED ???

I am having "bucking" problems with this recently bought '84 633csi. 5 spd man. trans., not sure what the maint. history was. Clutch seems to be strong, but "bucks" going into gear (1st mostly)!
NOW, that bucking has gone into an occasional "STALL" for about 2- 4 seconds after the bucking stops...
So, in the process of diagnosing "stalling out". Cleaned the air filter, will change the fuel filter.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THE FUEL FILTER IS LOCATED ON THIS CAR???
SOMEONE SUGGESTED A COUPLE OF THE CLUTCH SPRINGS MAY BE BROKEN. (great answer on the bucking, but not a help on the "occasional stall")
Thanks a million for your reply!

The E28 (which I have) and the E24 have the same chassis. The fuel filter is locted in front of the gas tank near the rear passenger wheel well on the E28. Should be silver in color and held in place by a bracket. The fuel pump should be right next to it.
