Gear Linkage Sloppy

Hi Folks,

My 535i has a sloppy gear change. Just need to know if anyone knows of a repair kit
available in the UK? ( Dogleg Gearbox 1986 )

Also I need a LHF headlamp wiper motor, any help appreciated.

You need a bunch of small parts (bushings, plastic cup, etc.) to replace and need to get under the car to do this (maybe even loosen the exhaust).


You'll need to replace items # 2, 3, 6, 8, 11 (2), 14 (2) & 19. I would add 9, 12, 15, 16 & 18 just to be safe (might be rusted or get deformed during removal). Just go to the dealer and order them. All this parts are actually a very small amount of money. As for the wiper motor, search a junkyard or Ebay for it.

Awesome, this is exactly what I needed. So this will get the loose, sloppy feeling out of my shifter when I replace these parts?
