CARB and visiting vehicles
Does anyone know what the CHP/CARB regulations are for out of state visiting vehicles? I'm mildly worried. Not that I'm going to get pulled over for being a dumbass, but that if I get pulled over for tint or something that I'll get slapped with either a massive ticket, or worse, having my car impounded. I'm currently searching the CA DMV site, but am coming up short.
Thanks.

I've never heard of anything like that. Only a problem when you go to register...

Assuming your car is registered in Oregon, then you should not need to worry about the California vehicle code being enforced against your car (edit: the vehicle equipment provisions that is).

I dont think they would impound your car perhaps just a tint ticket? depends on what you have on your car. Yea they defenitly wouldnt impound it.

No reason to worry, I'm sure unless your driving like a maniac or your car is bright green, they won't even notice you.

To my knowledge this is still true... If your car is registered out of CA and you have license and everything in another state, they cannot pull you over for tint, no front plate and such because your state laws are different.
You might get cops that will pull you over to inspect you and release but there should be no reason for stopping you for these items on a car from another state visiting.

My car is bright red, just as obvious as bright green.
You guys confirmed what I suspected, but in the past others had led me to believe differently in the past. So I shouldn't even need to worry about no front plate then? Let alone putting a cat back on? If so, sweet.

I think you and I both know that front plate is REQUIRED in the state of Oregon...

This will minimize the chances of getting a ticket or making it worse. If you're rude, they will go over your car with a magnifying glass to see what else they can ticket you for. The only cities that I've been pulled over for no apparent reason was Glendale and Burbank....
