I had the same problem. I kept mine on a tender too to prevent all those problems. But after several software updates for various problems and possibly a few 80mi drives, the problem went away. Thought I'd need a new battery, but I no longer keep it on the tender and I've stopped having the problems that you report. Get it checked by your dealer and don't give up.

Regarding what I discovered after buying it: The creme beige leather is beautiful to look at, but it gets really dirty really fast if I drive with the top down. I spend lots of time cleaning it with a damp cloth and then occasional Lexol cleaner and conditioner. The matching floor mats are the same. I bought some dark blue mats that match the exterior color and I"m MUCH happier.

I recently learned that the center console locks when you lock the car. My top was down so I thought I could reach in and grab my ipod out of the center console. It wouldn't open until I unlocked the doors.

I learnt I have auto fold in mirrors! Only noticed the little button by the electric window buttons cluster yesterday so pressed it and viola! the mirrors folded in, had always been doing it manually before!!

I learnt if you read the instruction manual you can pair your new phone

I bleed Krimson and Creme but not on my cars. LOL There is another Nupe on the forum that has color combo and it looks great. His name is macknificent

I forgot to mention that I learned that the Pandora Iphone app sounds great in my car. It's like free satellite radio. I also learned that I can use my ipod in shuffle mode and still control it through Idrive.

not sure Mark, I can't imagine they would have dropped it from the 650 - maybe an option?

If you see the attached picture, it's the square button at the bottom left of the mirror adjustment button.

What did you have to do to hook your iPhone up to the car. Is it simply plug and play with the iPod integration kit? Does all of your audio from your iPhone work as good as Pandora. For example.. I love the NYC radio stations and listen to them thru their own specific app or iHeart radio. I also LOVE the ESPN app and listen to its Fantasy Football podcast.

I'm honestly not sure? Only picked up the car in December and not sure what options the original owner chose, does anyone know what's the easiest way to get the info on the initial configuration?

Just bought my first bmw. A 645ci. A week ago I would have never thought I would be driving this beast of a machine. I have to change my boxers after every drive. It did not however come with a owners manual and I'm lost with all the gadgets. Anybody have an extra ? How about the nav. dvd ? Car poor now and out of clean boxers. 2005 645ci

you can download the manual online.

BMW assumes you will read the manual... (they do in Europe)... there are things about this bavarian car that are non-standard with how we are used to in the US...

example is opening the trunk with the key fob... it only opens after you release the button (after it was pressed for about 2-3 secs)...

there is a thread here listing a lot of little things... spend some time reading through it since it's got a lot of good info there...

welcome and have fun... don't snap your passengers head when accelerating (in sport mode)... tell them to brace before you stomp on that gas... the torque on this thing is insane...

Thanks for the picture, I definitely do not have that extra button. I also checked my PDF version of my manual and searched the entire document regarding mirrors. No mention of the mirrors folding electonically - if it was available as an optional item it would at least be listed. There was a nice description of how to do it by hand.

Yes I connect it to the iPod integration kit. It works with the iphone just like the ipod. The iPhone will say it's incompatible and try to go into airplane mode but you can chose No when it asks. I've only tried listening to audio from Pandora and my mp3s on the phone so I'm not sure how the other apps sound. The other audio enabled apps will probably work just as fine.

I have it in my 650. Another thing I learned about the mirrors is that they automatically unfold at 25 mph if you forget to unfold them after you leave the parking space.

I discovered after kind of being broken into that my car doenst have the security alarm, so either the alarm sensor is naft or something serious missing, the car wasnt actually broken into, i suspect i must have left the car unlocked on my drive, but the audacity of the thief to attmept was significantly worrying, however, I still havent fixe the alarm, need to make it a priority.........lol.

And the worst of all I discovered which I believe a lot of 6ser owners would have too, the rear windows dont bloody open, no thats a real fury for the one sitting in the rear, especially if he/she is a smoker, no wonder why i found lot ash in the rear seats. Cupholder should be standard, storage compartment in the car is appalling compare to other coupes I have owned, but not accustomed to it. On the positives, the engine growl is better than sex.....lol

WOW! Just tried this morning (sat in my car and locked it with the key fob) - sure enough - LOCKED!

I learned that if you hit the lock button on the fob after you lock the doors it disables the interior motion sensor for the alarm. Now the pooch no longer sets off the alarm while she practices "driving" while I am out of the car.
