just got m3/need help..PLEASE

I just got m3..which is honestly the most bad a@@ car i have ever driven. My car has smg,not as hard as i though it would be. I have one question. I find it easier to start at a traffic light in 2nd gear..1st just seems to buck, and is real annoying. Is it ok on the drive train to do that all the time.

I have been using mode 4 for the time being,

Try to put in in S-3/Sport button OFF for regular driving thru stop and go traffic.

I also just bought an M3 (2004) with SMG. I've had it a few days now...when I first got it I had the same issue but after getting used to it, trying different amounts of gas peddle pressure when starting and so on, I finally got to where I can start (and stop) much more smoothly. It really does take some getting used to and like the previous poster stated, trying the different/lower settings is a big help when getting used to it.

There is a lot of discussion on To be SMG or not to be SMG etc.... I had a stick Toyota MR2 before this and was a hard core believer in manual stick shifts when executing spirited driving. But, now that I have had several days to get used to the SMG, I think the world of it and am very glad I got it.
