Scraping of brake system/rotors
Hello Gents,
Need some help/opinions..........I just had a big brake system installed on my car in front only and now I am told my wheel bearings need replacing.........kinda strange to me considering I only have 39,000 miles on the car only street driven no track since 2003 What do you people think.........is the bearing set covered under BMW's warranty or am I stuck paying this myself?

If the car is under warranty, then yes, wheel bearings should be covered.

if you installed big brake kit, which thats not STOCK MANUFACTURER part, then that will void warranty even if you currently have it. they dont even touch the car when they see something has been changed. unless you have a friend working in the dealer. so if i was you, i would call them and tell them what you have did, and ask them if your wheel bearings will still be replaced if you take it in with the big brake kit on.

Legally this is not true. See the Magnusson-Moss act. They have to reasonably show that your modification caused the failure in question to deny a specific claim. They can't just 'void your warranty'.
