Need Premium Sound for IPOD?

I ordered my X6 35 without the Premium Sound but want to integrate an IPOD. In the accessories section, there is an IPOD connector for about 300-400. If I get that, would I be able to control the IPOD through the IDrive?

There are two ways to control your IPOD. One is by using the AUX and you will not be able to control the IPOD through the iDrive. The second way is by using the USB interface in the glove box. That will cost you about $600 to $800 to purchase and install. You will be able to control the IPOD through the iDrive by using the Interface connector. One thing that the dealership told me is if I buy the Interface connector it must be from a BMW dealership in order for them to install it.

You can add an iPod Interface Adapter for $320 as an option and it will be integrated in to iDrive. Retrofitting it will cost more, but it will work the same way.
