Z4 & traveling in europe - luggage space?

Knowing that the hardtop Z4s are very space-challenged with the top down, how do they work for one or two week European adventures? How much luggage can you bring - I know not much! Is there enough space for even a decent-size rolling duffel bag? If two people did this, how did you make it work for you? thanks!

I drove a Z4 for almost a week a few months back around Austria and had no problem fitting my 22" Tumi roll aboard and a smaller bag and a box of wine in it. I was by myself.

It could work for two people but only one roll-aboard.

Jonathan, was that top up or down? If I do this it is going to be summertime and the top will be DOWN!

You have to pack for "top down" - otherwise you'll never be able to put the top down.

Yes, that's why I asked you if your packing was for top up or down--sounds like you were there in winter which would be top up, so if we pack like you did are we fooling ourselves??

I think the photos in the articles clearly indicate when I was there, no?

Sorry, I only read the article, I'm supposed to be working so didn't have time to dig for trip reports, I planned to do that tonight. The article photos are beautiful, but since each shows a different car I didn't assume they were necessarily YOUR trip. Apologies for seeming stupid.

I had three different trips with three differnet Z4s. So all of the photos were mine. I see where that could be confusing. Luckily, the weather was incredible for all 3 trips.

you are so lucky!

Even with the top down you can fit a nice size suitcase, say a 24" Pullman in the trunk in addition to a smaller bag. If you pack smart a couple would be OK. My wife and I are making a trip to NC in a couple weeks and hope to have the top down at least part of the time.
