Pulled the Trigger Today on a Euro Delivery F10

I pulled the trigger today on a 2011 550 for Euro Delivery on Tuesday July 13, 9 am. We are going to Prague, Dresden, and Emsburen, Germany, ancestral home of my great grandfather's family, to visit with my relatives. It will be a great 2+ weeks vacation.

On the 550 I ordered the following packages: Sport, Dynamic Handling, Premium 2, Driver Assistance, Cold Weather, and Convenience. I also ordered the sport automatic transmission, HUD, split folding rear seats, active cruise control, integral active steering, smart phone integration. It will be Space Grey Metallic, Venetian Beige Dakota Leather, Dark Wood Trim, and the Anthracite Headliner.

I got a great deal, actually better than I had anticipated. Plus no nonsense and silly games. F10 pricing and lease rates will be out by the end of this month according an internal BMW document. If the pricing or rates aren't quite what I am looking for, I'll modify my order at that time.

wow, talk about a loaded vehicle. How do you know you will enjoy all those features w/o really test driving the car first? That would be scary for me..... However, the F10 will be in the BMW Center showrooms in June 2010

I just rely on BMW to tell me what I want. I probably spent of all of my Euro Delivery Savings on options that I don't need. Pretty soon BMW will price the base car with zero profit in order to sell electronic toys to guys like me which will be hugely profitable.

Personally, I think "pretty soon" happend quite a while ago. It is hard to explain some of the pricing otherwise.

Congrats on the order! When I read the subject of your thread I ever so briefly thought that you were doing a ED on a F10 pickup truck.

Trust me - BMW is not selling base packages at zero profit.

Congrats on the order pharding! I am curious to begin hearing the commentary on the new F10 versus its predecessor. Please provide feedback upon delivery. It should be excellent.

BMW is making a number of changes overall and to B-Y's point on pricing, some of their latest changes, though unseen/experienced by the end-user are getting lower cost. I think BMW is struggling with complaints of their more spartan luxury appointments versus some of their competition and are trying to balance the existing BMW MO (driving enthusiast's machine) with a broader luxury clientele. BMW wants to expand further. They will have to cut costs elsewhere to provide even more luxury appointments and touchable technologies (those the end-user sees like navigation systems). One thing BMW is NOT giving up is their direction to always balance the vehicle weight front to rear for outstanding driving handling. They are very protective of that basic design philosophy and in maintaining their trademark handling so driving JOY may always be had.

I will report back from Europe in July.

The best way for BMW Enthusiasts in the US to experience the F10 right now is to see and drive the 5 GT at BMW dealerships right now. It is an amazing car with wonderful features. I was not impressed by it until I saw it in person. It is an extremely well done, impressive car. The design, fit, and finish of the cabin is awesome. It is exceedingly well done. The F10 has gotten wonderful reviews from the automobile press. The F10 looks to be a great car that synthesizes the traditional BMW sportiness with the degree of luxury that one chooses. I believe that it is destined to be a huge success in a tight economy in many parts of the world.

Pharding: if purchase: how is your "dea"l relating to ED price? Meaning how much over or under in $ or %?

You save approximately 11% off of US MSRP on the car and options if you are smart about it. It is a great deal on a great car. Plus the experience of traveling around Europe in a new BMW is a wonderful experience. This summer will be Euro Delivery Five for my wife and I. We enjoy it immensely.

Pharding: thank you for response. In your case : do you always pay the ED price? ( do not mean USA MSRP)

I have always done European Delivery since 2001. This summer will be my fifth time. As architect I am very analytical and I have spent a lot of time to develop an understanding of European Delivery and Leasing. I also understand how market forces work and how to negotiate a fair deal. I won't sign a lease unless the dealer's number and mine are within a few dollars. I always negotiate dollars above Euro Delivery Wholesale on the base car and options plus I am always after the BMW Buy Rate on the Lease. The lease residual value is always based upon a percentage of US MSRP. Not Euro Delivery MSRP.

How do we find out what the buy rate is? I am hoping the buy rate for the F10 will be listed here as soon as the pricing and leasing info is released. Will the dealer really tell you what the buy rate is? I noticed that under the ask the dealer link, there was a link for current buy rates, can we assume they are accurate? I am just full of questions...LOL BTW. i discovered the answer to my question regarding MSRP.

Nothing wrong with that. He might have been the program co-founder with BMW.
