Order timing for X-Drive?

Hello all. Trying to help a friend with a possible Euro Delv of the next generation 5 series with X-Drive which i assume will be the 535ix.... Any ideas on when it will available for ordering? thanks

According to my conversation with the BMWNA ED office, production for the 535ix starts 9/1/10 and first ED is expected 10/15/10. The latter depends on EPA approval time. They (BMWNA) will accept orders from dealers in June or July. From my observation, it seems that dealers will "accept" orders before that, but they really can't place them with BMWNA until the June/July time period.

Do you have any information as to when the 550i xDrive for North American delivery will go into production and when dealers will actually be able to place orders with BMW?

I don't think the new xDrive models will be labeled "ix". I got a 328i with xDrive as a loaner in Feb. The rear label was 328i. The xDrive was a separate label on the front fenders.
