Need help with tire selection
Just got some OEM M6 rims to put on my 2007 650i. The recommended tire spec is p245/40R19 on the front and p275/35R19 on the back. I found a good deal on Michelin PS2's at Costco but then ran into a problem. The original PS2 that meets the recommended load rating for the rear tires has been discontined. The tire guys said the thing to do was put the XL 98Y on the front and XL 100Y on the rear. My understanding is that the XL is the 'extra load' tire. It sounds OK, but I'm worried that I'm going to spend $1500 and somehow these will be incorrect for handling or appearance. Has anyone had any experience with these tires?

I have the PZero's, take a look at them and stay away from places like Costco for tires. Shop around, a good tires shop will match a price if you find it somewhere else cheaper.

There are Tire Shops and there are Tire Shops.
I could be wrong but I don't think Costco see's many 6ers. Deal with a shop that's use to seeing your kind of vehicle. They will have the experience to suggest and advise you on tire selections and then stick with them. And like I said, they should match or beat anybody elses price
