Metallic paint costing extra?
I am haggling with a dealer for the new 5 series and he is saying metallic paint would be $500 extra? Anyone heard of this?

Correct for 535i. But its no extra cost for 550i.

is metallic paint costing more $$ a new thing for the 2011 535i? and if so, how much? he wants $500. Because on the bmwusa website for the 535i it does not add extra for metallic paint.

The MSRP for Metallic Paint is $550. The Est. Invoice is $500.

Quit whining. In Germany, one has to pay €980 for metallic paint regardless of model. $550 is a bargain.

At the NY Auto show yesterday, the spec sheet for the 535i showed $500 for the metallic paint. I didn't look at the sheet for the 550i.
