Nope. See the ordering guide I posted in another thread. This should help spell it out for your client advisor.

I finally did it!
I ordered one today, already approved by BMW FS, and I even wrote the check. My 2011 X5 xDrive 35d will be in production in the next few days, and I have a production number of 7555363. I am told it will be available for PDC delivery in two or three weeks, if I'm lucky. I think I have one of the first allocations/slots available. Whatever the date is, it's not June. 300 Alpine White 4AB Dark Burl Walnut Wood Trim LUSW Black Nevada Leather ZAP Sport Activity Package ZCW Cold Weather Package ZPP Premium Package ZTP Technology Package 322 Comfort Access (should be standard!) 330 Sport Package 386 Roof Rails 341 Auto Dimming mirror 655 Satellite Radio 6AA BMW Teleservices 6AB Steering Teleservices 6FL iPod and USB adapter 6NF Smartphone Integration MSRP $63,775 I paid $500 over dealer invoice ($59,080) without even negotiating. Told them I wanted a straight up great deal, that's what I got. Wagner BMW of Shrewsbury, MA No haggling required, never suggested teflon paint protection, etc. I highly recommend them. Sales/Leasing Manager - Brian Cho (508) 925-2270 direct bcho@wagnermotors.com Please tell him I sent you, if you call him. He is the nicest guy, returns every call and email. __________________

Do you get the $4500 rebate in addition to your low price ? Or is the dealer keeping it and not giving you a "great deal" ?

I did get the $4,500 eco credit as well as $500 over invoice. I simply said 'does $500 over invoice sound fair?' and he replied 'perfect'. No argument. Made me happy.
Also, he gave me the best rate BMW FS had, as well. And is installing the BMW trailer hitch at only a little over cost. I can't complain.

greetings bimmerfesters. this is my first post. i recently purchased a 2011 x5 35d (week 14 production). I can't wait for my performance delivery (end april, i hear).
i was able to get the multi contour seats (456) with the sport activity package (ZAP) and didn't need napa leather or active ventilated seats. i do believe that if you go for the active ventilated seats, that you need the perforated leather, which makes sense. good luck! -Lammy Livernips |

Lammy,
I am told PCD delivery is May, at best. You may want to check into that. Also, I have been checking my production number, no movement, although I was finally able to enter it into my profile on bmwusa.com a day or two ago. I did load up more options (ZAP, etc) and kicked the MSRP over $70k, but I couldn't help it. The more I thought about it, the more I realized there was some 'stuff' I needed! My production number still shows as 'scheduled for production' - if anyone else has one moving forward, I would love to know their production number to gauge how far behind I am.

PCD for mine is iffy since the cars are expected to be released mid-April and the VPC will only hold the cars for 4 weeks after they're ready for transport. They're not scheduling any PCD dates for the 2011 X5s until the car is released (EPA/CARB). They're currently filling up PCD dates for all the other cars that are eligible. So, unless they're holding some dates back (which we did not get the impression of -- as of last week they were scheduling for May 21st and later), when the 2011 X5s that are waiting in the wings become eligible to receive dates, there may not be enough left that fall within the 4-week timeframe. My CA had asked if they were going to relax this requirement since they have been accepting PCD requests for this car that hasn't been released yet (they normally don't do that), but it did not sound promising. Who knows what will happen when the time comes though. All we'll know is if we end up with a date when the car is released or if they say "we're sending you your car". Heh -- me too. My retail was just a tad under $70k. ZAP, Adaptive Drive, and lots more stuff that made it cost $20k more than my last one. It has ZPP/ZAP too, so what happened?! |

My production number is 4946803 (Canadian order) and as of two weeks ago sitting at Stage 12 to production. I'm not too sure if they build Cdn cars at the same time as the American ones.

"Weston, my production number is 7557787; the order was placed 3/11. My CA told me that it had gone into production yesterday (that's 4/7) and is expected to come off the line about 4/14. When I checked out my status on the web site yesterday, it still said 'on order', when I just checked now, it says 'schedule for production'."
I ordered mine 3 days ahead of you, on 3/8, but it is still the stage of "order received". How did you manage to cut in front of me?

I am stationed in Germany and currently deployed to Afghanistan. I went back on mid-tour leave in March with the intention of ordering a 2011 but ended up buying a 2010 with an M package. I paid $53K, the MSRP from bmwusa.com was $66K.

Perhaps it has to do with the dealer's respective allocations. I know when I ordered mine he said something to the effect that he had a slot in April. Or perhaps it has to do with the availability of parts/paint/etc to build the car. I heard that if you wanted jet black, you'd have to wait until June (is the paint on a slow boat from China or something?). I think that carbon black is holding some up too.

how do they differ from std sports seats?

And you can get them if you don't order the sport package, but then they're $1300.

Most importantly I think that they're not as hard. Beyond that, you can electronically adjust a bunch of stuff that is either manual on the standard sport seat, or isn't adjustable at all (10 more), such as: leg extension, side bolsters, lumbar (I'm not 100% if, or how that is adj on the std, so that could be the same.)
I was thinking about adding the option to my ZAP because I was also getting adaptive drive. My CA was trying to talk me out of it because he thought it was a waste of money (a CA wanting you to spend LESS money?). I asked him hunt a car down on the lot that had the option so that I could see for myself. He was able to find only one: a 7-series. He went and found it and brought it up. He changed his tune in the short drive across the parking lot! When he got out the car car he said, "I think you're really gonna like these seats". And I did. I'm getting them. |
