Enamel on BMW Badge Peeling

After giving my car an extensive detail over the weekend amongst other liitle things I noticed that the enamel on the hood badge is chipping away, should this be covered under my extended waranty? I have the 100k mile waranty.

Your thoughts?

No more than paint chips in the hood from driving would be. The roundel is easily replaced if it really bothers you.

even if it was.. the 50$ deductible makes it cheaper to buy a new one and replace yourself...

good reason to get the black/white roundel if you like that look

i'm sure if you wanted to stay with the original look, there's a few on this forum that have changed their emblems to black and will be happy to give you their old ones...

They should cover it under warranty, I had mine peeling on steering wheel and they replaced it under warranty.

If he is getting rock chips on it from driving, just like his hood/bumper probably is, why is it a warranty item? It's a little different if the steering wheel roundel is 'peeling'.

If you have a good relationship with SA they usually do things as a goodwill gesture.
I have had trim pieces that have been scratched by moving things in & out of car replaced under warranty.
