Question Dice versus iSimple iPod/iPhone integration

I have a 2001 540i with the upgraded factory DSP radio (I believe it's called the Business CD system). I do not have navigation or a cd changer in the trunk. I am looking for an iPod integration system to use with an iPod Classic and an iPhone 3GS. I don't care about using the radio to search through artists, albums, playlists, etc. I find that just as easy to do do on the iPod/iPhone. The only control I'm really interested in is to skip a track in a playlist using the button the the steering wheel.

I've tried a couple of FM transmitters and the sound quality is awful. My main objective is not necessarily controlling a lot of functions on the iPod from the radio/steering wheel, but SOUND QUALITY.

I've come across two options - the Dice Silverline Pro and the iSimple SoundByte, # ISBM72. According to the Bavarian Soundworks website, along with the Dice Silverline Pro I also need to purchase the Dice DSP adaptor since I have a pre-2002 DSP radio. This brings the price of the Dice solution to $242. YIKES!!!

The iSimple SoundByte, # ISBM72 comes in at $119. I've written to iSimple asking if their product will work with a 2001 DSP radio - haven't heard back yet.

I'd appreciate any feedback/suggestions/cautions relative to these products or any others.

Thanks.

Unfortunately if you have DSP, that's pretty much it. You've got to get the DSP adapter in order to add the iPod Interface, it's the only way it will work. Let me know if you have any further questions, or feel free to browse our website here:

DICE - SILVERLINE PRO iPod Integration Kit for e39 5-Series/M5 (Trunk Interface)

I hope that helps!
